About RideWatch SA
A free, community-run site that helps South Australian riders get stolen motorbikes back, and helps everyone else avoid buying one.
Why it exists
When a bike is stolen, the first few days matter most. Owners end up posting the same photos across a dozen Facebook groups, sightings get lost in comment threads, and buyers have no simple way to check whether the bike they're about to pay for is hot. RideWatch puts it all in one place, on a map.
How it works
- Report a stolen bike with photos, the rego and VIN, and where it was taken. It goes on the map and the stolen list straight away.
- Log a sighting if you see a listed bike. Each sighting is added to that bike's trail so the owner and police can see where it's been.
- Report a suspicious bike that looks stolen or dumped. We check it against every listing and show the owners of possible matches.
- Check before you buy. Search a rego, VIN or model to see if it's been reported here, then run an official PPSR check.
- Share local knowledge about hot spots to avoid and safe places to park.
What we're not
RideWatch SA isn't run by or connected to SA Police or any government agency. Reports here don't replace a police report. If a crime is happening now, call 000. For anything else, call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 to stay anonymous.
Our rules
We talk about bikes, places and times, never people. Don't name anyone, post photos of faces, or share home addresses, and never approach or confront someone you think has a stolen bike. The full rules are in our terms of use.
Who runs it
RideWatch SA is run by South Australian riders. It's free to use and paid for by advertising and by links to security gear we'd use ourselves. Get in touch if you'd like to help, or if you run a bike shop and want to partner with us.
